Tax cut for many products from Republic of Korea

The Ministry of Finance has issued circular 77/2010/TT-BTC to instruct the application of preferential tariffs on goods imported to Vietnam according to the Free Trade Agreement between ASEAN and the Republic of Korea from 2010 to 2011.
Accordingly, taxes on many imported goods from the Republic of Korea like lamb, beef and pork are reduced by 7 to 10%. Dairy products will only be taxed at 10 to 15%.
The Ministry of Finance said that only goods that are imported directly to Vietnam from the other nine member states of ASEAN can enjoy this tariff from July 3rd, 2010.
