Intel Corp. expands scholarship programme in Vietnam

The Intel Corp. and the University of Portland have expanded their scholarship programme in Vietnam.

Specifically, California-based Intel Corp. will give an additional US $2.5 million to two-year scholarships for Vietnamese students.

After graduation, Vietnamese students will work for Intel’s biggest assembly plant in Ho Chi Minh City.

Apart from electricity and mechanics, Intel’s scholarship winners will attend courses in English, technology, and American culture.

As scheduled, The University of Portland held a party to welcome 22 Vietnamese students who had won grants from Intel Corp.

Mr. Rich Howarth, the Intel Products Vietnam’s CEO, confirmed that, by granting scholarships, the corporation wants to make its contributions to the Vietnamese education development as part of its development strategy.

In 2009, 28 Vietnamese students received Intel Corp.’s scholarships, worth US $2million.
