Cellist Ngo Hoang Quan to perform in Hanoi

Vietnamese leading cellist Ngo Hoang Quan along with the Vietnam National Symphony Orchestra will perform a symphony concert titled ‘A night of Drovak’ under the baton of Japanese conductor Tetsuji Honna at the Hanoi Opera House on December 16 and 17.

Music lovers will have a chance to hear compositions by Czech composer Antonín Leopold Dvořák.

Cellist Ngo Hoang Quan was born in 1956 into a musical family in Hanoi. He was introduced to the art of Violoncello at a very young age by his father, Professor Hoang Duong, the meritorious teacher of the Hanoi Conservatory of Music, formerly known as the Vietnam National Academy of Music.

After graduating with honors from the Hanoi Conservatory of Music in 1974, he went on to study at the Tchaikovsky Institute of Music in Moscow in 1976.

Since 1982 he has been the director and Cello soloist of the Vietnam National Symphony Orchestra with numerous brilliant performances to his credit around the world.

Tickets to the present show are available at Hanoi Opera House for VND150 000 (USD$7.5), 250 000, 350 000 and 450 000.
