Nguyen Tien Minh has recently been confirmed one of eight places to compete at the World Super Series Final from January 5-9 in Taiwan, according to the Badminton World Federation (BWF).
Ranked sixth on the BWF Super Series Ranking, the Vietnamese No.1 player will join with seven others including Malaysian Lee Chong Wei, Long Chen and Pengyu Du from China, Thai Boonsak Ponsana, Peter Hoeg Gade and Jan O Jorgensen of Denmark, and Taufik Hidayat from Indonesia.
They will be drawn in two groups to play single round-robin format to select four best players to advance to the semifinals.
Whatever the result, each participant player will get a cash prize of at least US$4,250. Semifinalists will earn $10,000. Top two winners will win $40,000 and $20,000 respectively.
