64 World Cup 2010 matches to be broadcast live on K plus 1 channel

QĐND – Tuesday, June 08, 2010, 20:59 (GMT+7)

PANO – The K plus (K+) satellite digital television will broadcast, live, 64 matches of the World Cup 2010 on its K+1 channel, according to the television channel on June 7th.

Along with live matches, other information related to World Cup 2010, such as match results, assessments, predictions or comments by experts, will be daily updated at 6.50pm at the sports bulletin, “Meeting Place”, on K+1 as well.

In addition, on June 12th, the television will launch its website, so that football supporters can post their video clips or images featuring their unique celebrations for World Cup 2010.

If two matches play simultaneously, the K+1 will broadcast live one match while the other will be replayed right after that.

Hoang Tuan Dung, the program director of Vietnam Satellite Digital Television, said that with DTH technology, K+ users throughout the country could watch live football matches during the World Cup 2010 on K+1 channel or via VTV’s channels with Access, Family or Premium channels on the grounds of the satellite digital technology provided by K+.

VTC to broadcast this summer’s World Cup

Vietnam Digital Television (VTC) will broadcast live 64 matches of the FIFA World Cup 2010 in South Africa this summer, the company announced at a press conference on March 23.

VTC, who won the right to broadcast the 2006 World Cup in Germany, continues its programme to bring live football on high-definition VIP channel in cooperation with Japanese partner Dentsu Alpha.

As scheduled, VTC will send 30 reporters and technicians to cover all the matches from stadia across South Africa.

Dentsu Alpha is a member of the Asia-network of Dentsu that has been granted official broadcasting rights by FIFA.

Oscars debuts satellite broadcast on Vietnamese channel

The 82nd Academy Awards (Oscar) will be broadcast live via satellite to Vietnamese television viewers, for the first time on a local station on  March 8.

The broadcast event on Hanoi TV Channel coincides with International Women’s Day, so that ladies can start their morning with a peek at the glitz and glamour of Hollywood’s biggest day.
The central stage will see more laughs with two MCs instead of the usual one with the combination of Steve Martin and Alec Baldwin.
From 5.45am, Hanoi TV will host a conference with the popular local film producers and actors discussing their view on the awards.
From 8am to 8.30am, the satellite-broadcast will feature Hollywood celebrities walking the red carpet to the Oscars, special interviews with nominees and special guest presenters.

According to the official website, viewers can send messages on Facebook to their favorite stars at the Kodak Theatre in Hollywood. Messages will be passed to the attendees as they go past.

The half-hour welcoming party is a virtual fashion show with the celebrities wearing clothes by the world’s most famous designers.

From 8.30am to 11.30am, it’s showtime. That means, it’s time for some unforgettable moments as the winners in the big categories come up to collect their award: Best Picture, Best Actor in a Leading Role, Best Actress in a Leading Role, and Best Director.
