Charity gala event to help aid children in need

Leading artists will gather to perform at a charity gala on Jan. 13 to raise money for children living at Hanoi’s Phuc Lam Preschool and Nursery.
The show, which is to take place at the capital’s historic Sofitel Legend Metropole Hanoi hotel, is entitled Cay Lieu Khoc Cho Em (Willow Weeps for Me).
As a curtain raiser, Spanish fashion designer Chula will present her latest collection, which features the diamond jewellery of the Hanoi-based London Diamond Gallery.
Vietnamese diva My Linh and virtuoso pianist Pho An My will share the stage with the hotel’s resident French jazz diva Trebeka on the night. Award-winning actress Le Khanh will be MC.
The event is organised by the the non-profit charity organisation, Willow Weeps for Me, founded by Trebeka.

A charity music performance to raise money for the poor in the upcoming lunar New Year holiday (Tet) will take place at the Ho Chi Minh City Opera House on December 10.
Singer My Tam will take part in the concert.
The concert is jointly organized by the Sai Gon Giai Phong (SGGP) Newspaper and Ho Chi Minh City Television.
Popular singers will include Anh Tuyet, My Tam, Quang Linh, Nguyen Phi Hung, Bonnuer Trinh, Dong Quan, cai luong actress Que Tran and actor Ly Hung.
In addition, on this occasion, the SGGP Newspaper will launch a fundraising program for the disadvantaged people so that they too can enjoy a happy Tet holiday. The organizes would like people to donate money for this worthy cause, so that we can help the poor.

A musical night for charity

At 8pm November 24th, a musical evening, “Vietnamese hearts”, will start at the 126 stage in the Cach Mang Thang Tam Street, District 3, Ho Chi Minh City.
The night will be divided into two separate types, pop songs and country songs, which will be performed by famous Vietnamese singers such as Ngoc Son, Cam Ly, Quoc Dai, Luong Bang Quang, Bao Thy, Dong Nhi, Khong Tu Quynh, Noo Phuoc Thinh, Chi Thien and the V.Music and Nhat Nguyet bands, to name a few.
All money from the sale of tickets will be donated to the flood victims in the Central provinces.

Women’s club set to host annual charity bazaar

An annual charity bazaar will be held on Nov. 28 by the Hanoi International Women’s Club, a non-profit social group of expatriate women.
The 19th annual bazaar, at the Water Sport Centre which is opposite to the My Dinh National Stadium, would showcase the diverse cultures of the expatriate community in Hanoi and so would be the perfect place to look for handicrafts from all over the world, a club spokesperson said.
There would be a kid’s corner to keep the little ones entertained while adults could bid on items in the silent auction or simply kick back with a cold drink and enjoy the cuisine of more than 30 countries.
The bazaar was supported by embassies and communities and local and foreign businesses. All the proceeds would go to supporting charities in and around Hanoi.
Tickets cost 100,000 VND (5 USD) for adults and 50,000 VND for children aged 3-12. Children under 3 are free. Tickets will be available at the gate or can be purchased in advance from Pure Heaven, JAFA, Jaspas, Oasis, and Restaurant Number Five.
