Photo exhibitions of life in big cities

A photo exhibition titled “Colors of life” featuring around 65 pictures of Chinese Vietnamese photographer Tran Quan Lai is being held at the Ho Chi Minh City Photography Association’s office.

It is the fourth solo exhibition of the photographer at the age of 72. He has spent 35 years for taking art works of the land and people in the country.

The display will run until August 20 at 122 Suong Nguyet Anh Street in Ho Chi Minh City.

 

In addition, another exhibition called “Hanoi in me” opened at the Information and Exhibition House, 45 Trang Tien Street, Hanoi on August 17.

The display introduces to audiences 90 color, black and white pictures of the landscapes and daily activities of the people in the capital.

They are selected from photos which have been taken since 2000 by Tat Binh who was born and grow up in Hanoi.

The show is organized by the Hanoi Information and Exhibition Center and Hong Ha Photography Club.

Photo exhibitions mark national events

An exhibition featuring the anti-American Resistance War for National Salvation, cultural, social and economic achievements and events of Ho Chi Minh City during 35 years is being held at Lam Son Park in District 1 and to run until May 15.

SGGP’s editor in chief Tran The Tuyen (R) and leaders enjoy the photo exhibition in Hanoi.

The display titled “Great victory in Spring 1975- Proud of Ho Chi Minh City’ building and development during 35 years” aims to celebrate the 35th anniversary of the National Reunification Day on April 30 (1975-2010), the Labor Day on May 1, the 120th birthday of President Ho Chi Minh (1890-2010) and 1,000th anniversary of the founding of Thang Long – Hanoi.

To mark the 35th anniversary of the publication of the first issue (May 5, 1975-2010) and the National Reunification Day, Sai Gon Giai Phong Newspaper (SGGP) also opened a photo exhibition called “Moments in 35 years” in Hanoi on April 21.

More than 100 pictures taken by journalists in the display is regarded as a panorama of SGGP Newspaper and Ho Chi Minh City during 35 years, said SGGP’s editor in chief Tran The Tuyen.

They also depict affection of leaders and people in the country for the active and creative newspaper, he added.

The event was attended by Minister of Information and Communication Le Doan Hop, Mr. Andrey G. Kovtun, Russian Ambassador to Vietnam, Mr. Fredesman Turro Gongalez, Cuban Ambassador ,
