Pham Huy Thong introduces “My compatriots” paintings

QĐND – Wednesday, November 24, 2010, 20:33 (GMT+7)

PANO- On November 27th, the exhibition, “My compatriots”, will be opened by young artist Pham Huy Thong at the Bui Gallery, No. 23, Ngo Van So Street, Hanoi.

His oil paintings about national unity are inspired from the legend of “Lac Long Quan and Au Co”.

These works also show the “Lac Hong bloodstream” meaning, the blood flowing through every Vietnamese body.

The exhibition will last till January 2nd, 2011.

Silk paintings spotlight Vietnamese culture in France

Nearly 40 Vietnamese silk paintings are on display at an exhibition that opened in the Vietnamese Cultural Centre in Paris , France on July 24.

The exhibition, the fist of its kind in France , is being co-organised by the Vietnamese Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the Vietnamese Fine Arts, Photography and Exhibition Department, the Vietnamese Embassy in France and the Vietnamese Cultural Centre in Paris .

As part of activities to celebrate the 1,000 th anniversary of Thang Long-Hanoi, the exhibition featured daily activities of Vietnamese people, contributing to introducing the country’s traditional culture to international friends.

The event, which will run until August 30, has attracted great participation of both Vietnamese and French artists.

Vietnamese paintings showcased in France

More than 40 paintings by Vietnamese artists are on display at an exhibition in Paris, France until January 25.

Some of the paintings are on the display.

The paintings, ranging from pastels, acrylic works, wood and zinc engravings as well as water colours were created by 25 artists from Ho Chi Minh City Fine Arts University.

A large number of the works feature beautiful scenes of different regions across Vietnam, which is aimed at raising French people’s understanding of Vietnamese painting to strengthen cultural ties between the two countries.

After the exhibition, the university plans to hold another exhibition on a much larger scale and have the chance to exhibit Vietnamese paintings in other towns and cities in France.
