Cuban ballet troupe performs in Vietnam
In Uncategorized on October 20, 2010 at 12:08 amThe Rakatan Ballet troupe from Cuba is scheduled to make performances in Vietnam at the invitation of the Performing Arts Centre, under the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism (MCST).
According to the Hanoi Moi (New Hanoi) daily, the artistic performances will be held at the Hanoi Opera House on Oct. 21, the August Theatre (Hai Phong) on Oct. 22 and the Culture and Information Centre (Thai Nguyen) on Oct. 24.
The 19-member troupe is regarded as one of the most talented ballet groups to emerge from Cuba and well-known for their attractive and diversified dances.

Japanese famous pianist performs in Hanoi
In Uncategorized on October 13, 2010 at 7:56 amJapan’s leading pianist Michie Koyama arrives in Vietnam to perform in a concert at the Hanoi Opera House on September 17-18.

The concert is part of a music project since 2009 by the Vietnam National Symphony Orchestra in which world famous solo pianists will be invited to perform Beethoven’s nine symphonic masterpieces.
Michie Koyama will play the concerto No.5 of the of the genius composer Beethoven together with the Vietnam National Symphony Orchestra under the baton of conductor Honna Tetsuji.
The pianist was early introduced piano at five years old. She was the first Japanese won prizes at the world’s most prestigious piano contests including the third place at the 7th Tchaikovsky International Piano Competition in 1982 and the 4th position award in the 1985 Chopin International Piano Competition.
She has become famous and given many recitals with symphony orchestras throughout the world.
