The northwestern winds would affect the northern and parts of northern central provinces for at least three days.

The northern mountainous regions should watch for flash floods and landslides while the Gulf of Tonkin may experience strong winds and even vortexes.

Meanwhile, affected by a hot low-pressure zone from the west together with hot and dry winds, the central region has experienced sweltering weather over the past few days.

Provinces from Thanh Hoa to Phu Yen on Monday suffered through extreme heat with common temperatures ranging from 37-39 Celsius degrees.

Forecasters predict the scorching weather will continue plaguing the central region over the next two to three days.

In the southern region, it would be hot in day time with highest temperatures hovering around 36 Celsius degrees on June 1. Some places would see showers in the late afternoons and during the night.
